OSS integration is a first step to enable a transformed service model for Digital Service Providers; with proactive management of infrastructure, business services and customer experience. By integrating service assurance with service management we’re enabling our customers’ transformation from Network Operating Centre to Service Operating Centre.
The main business objectives with OSS integration are :
Reducing costs by retiring old management tools and replacing them with fewer more flexible systems.
Reducing OPEX and increasing efficiency with simplification, automation and AI.
Service and customer focus
Re-orientating operations to focus upon services and customers.
What We Do
Eirteic provide a next generation service assurance solution that unifies fault, performance, topology, and service level management in a single scalable platform. Unified Service Assurance is amazing, but as an Operational Support System (OSS) it is primarily focused on the network. Traditionally, for Communications Service Providers (CSPs), this is a far as Service Assurance goes. But to achieve greatest business impact service assurance needs to be integrated with service management. This integration enhances customer experience, and when automated, reduces operational costs. This is what we mean by OSS integration.
At Eirteic we have pioneered the successful integration of the Assure1 and ServiceNow to deliver world-class OSS integration. We have also delivered the same level of integration with other service management systems – such as Reme=dy,
Eirteic provide a next generation, service assurance solution that unifies fault, performance, topology, and service level management in a single scalable platform. When coupled with our integration of ServiceNow (the world’s leading provider of service management software as a service) we create the infrastructure to transform your whole business.
ServiceNow specialises in IT services management (ITSM), IT operations management (ITOM) and IT business management (ITBM) and is scaleable for enterprises of all sizes. However, as all CSPs know, telecommunications networks are of all a size of complexity far beyond the boundaries of similar sized enterprises. CSP networks will usually have millions of attached devices, and thousands of automated systems detecting and resolving network ‘events’. This is a problem to all BSS systems, which are designed to handle manually entered issues.
Simply put, ServiceNow is not designed to handle the scale of ‘events’ that are generated by today’s CSP networks. This is not a criticism of ServiceNow, it was never intended to be integrated into massive scale Telecoms networks. But ServiceNow has exactly the Service Management features that all CSPs need, and when integrated with our Service Assurance solution it opens up huge opportunities to automate, simplify and improve business processes and customer service.
This is why Eirteic have pioneered the integration of AssureNow.
The CSP class Service Assurance Solution
With the integration of ServiceNow and Assure1, CSPs can gain the outstanding capabilities of ServiceNow for managing their business operations whilst having full integration into Assure1 for fully scale-able Service Assurance.
Infrastructure development has been the driving force behind network and service initiatives in fixed-mobile convergence, NGN, SDP and IMS. However, many providers are realizing that most existing operational support systems (OSS) are obstacles to change. Where focus has been firmly centered on next-generation initiatives, it’s becoming clear that associated issues are better dealt with upfront through OSS. Service providers are addressing these issues through OSS transformation projects as large and complex as network transformation.
With a next-generation network, any service can run over any infrastructure. A new infrastructure doesn’t need to be built to support a new service, making the proliferation of services possible. This requires the management of a services inventory, in much the same way that network and other resources are managed by inventory applications. However, if a service inventory and a resource inventory are maintained separately, the scope for inaccuracy and error is high – too high for profitability. As services compete for resources, resources must attempt to provide the right quality to each service. For this to work in a reliable and scalable fashion, services and resources need to be managed together – maintaining the relationship between customers, services and the resources used to deliver them.
The resource and service model maintaining these relationships must be based on one common schema, allowing properly managed coordination between resources and services. The right level of service can then be delivered and assured with confidence.
Move to a next generation Service Assurance solution. Unify fault, performance and service level management within a single, integrated, scalable platform. Monitor, measure and report on all network types (fixed line, mobile and virtual), integrated seamlessly with existing hardware and emerging technologies.
Simplify network management with customizable reports, dashboards and portals displaying a single, normalized, view of device, fault, performance, topology, service logic and service relationships.
Our Customers want to manage their networks to peak performance, to drive new markets and capitalise upon new technologies. They demand new approaches including closer integration of business functions and network management. We enable them by developing tight integration between our core Service Assurance platform and other OSS systems.
