OSS Consultant - Europe
This role provides the opportunity to:
- Work alongside experienced personnel in a flexible team environment;
- Take real responsibility on delivering high quality solutions to major global Telecommunications, IT, Service Provicer, Financial Services and Enterprise companies;
- Develop technical, communication and project management skills in real-world environments; and
- Develop you OSS skills even further to certification level.
The successful candidate(s) will be a self starter with exceptional customer facing skills with a desire to work on Eirteic's projects globally. He/She will have a background in the OSS industry and a working knowledge of Network Operations, Fault Management/Service Assurance and Network Management Protocols.
Responsibilities:
- OSS Project Delivery from Pre Sales, through deployment to final acceptance;
- Solution Design;
- Solution Deployment and Project Management on projects of various sizes; and
- Technical Account Management.
The successful candidate will have most or all of the following skills:
- Strong Unix/Linux skills and solid SQL knowledge;
- Previous project deployment experience and be familiar with all aspects of IT project delivery, from Pre Sales Technical Presentations and RFP responses through to Project Acceptance Testing;
- Equally comfortable working in a project team or being the sole technical resource on a project delivery;
- Knowledge of Perl, Awk or other scripting;
- Strong Documentation Skills;
- Troubleshooting and problem solving;
- Strong communication skills. This role requires being able to communicate effectively with people at all levels within an organization; and
- Desire to travel (approx 70%), Eirteic has customers and projects currently running across the globe.
Desired Experience:
- Working background in some of the following EMC SMARTS, IBM Tivoli/Netcool, HP Openview, InfoVista or similar Network Management products;
- Database design, preferably Oracle, DB2 or mySQL;
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and SNMP also advantageous is MPLS, BGP, OSPF, CORBA, Q3, ATM;
- Networking background to CCNA level or similar; and
- HTML, XML and Web Technologies.
